Lace Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Cable Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 18 stitches + 7 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 sts (1 + 18 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

The patt rep = 18 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

cross 5 sts: slip 2 sts to 1st cable needle and hold in back; slip 1 st to 2nd cn and hold in front; K2; then K1 from 2nd cable needle; finally K2 from 1st cable needle

Row 1 (RS): edge st, p1, * k5, yo, p2tog tbl, p2, k5, p2, p2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with k5, p1, edge st.

Row 2 and all WS rows: edge st, k1, p5, * k4, p5, k4, p5 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, p1, * cross 5 sts, p1, yo, p2tog tbl, p1, k5, p1, p2tog, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; cross 5 sts, p1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p1, * k5, p2, yo, p2tog tbl, cross 5 sts, p2tog, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k5, p1, edge st.

Repeat these 6 rows for pattern.
