Lace Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 18 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 22 stitches (2 + 18 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work all stitches as they appear, purl any yarn-over loops.

 

The pattern repeat = 18 stitches wide.

 

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 2 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 edge stitch.

 

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: Yarn Over

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Cr5B: slip 2 stitches to cable needle, hold to back, K3, K2 from cable needle

 

Rows 1 and 9 (right side): edge stitch, p2, * p1, k5, p3, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work all stitches as they appear, purl any yarn-over loops.

Rows 3 and 7: edge stitch, p2, * p1, Cr5B, p2, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, p2, * p1, k5, p2, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Row 11: edge stitch, p2, * p1, Cr5B, p4, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, p3 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Rows 13 and 21: edge stitch, * p2, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, p3, k5, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, edge stitch.

Rows 15 and 19: edge stitch, * p1, yo, k3, cdd, k3, yo, p2, Cr5B, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, edge stitch.
