Fancy Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 stitches (1 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear; purl yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 6 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 1 stitch before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 6 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Rows 1 and 3 (right side): edge stitch, k1, * k1, p3, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k1, p3, k2, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (k the k sts and p the p sts); purl yarn-over loops.

Row 5: edge stitch, k1, * yo, skpo, p1, k2tog, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; yo, skpo, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, k1, * k1, yo, cdd, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, cdd, yo, k2, edge stitch.

Rows 9 and 11: edge stitch, p1, * p1, k3, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p1, k3, p2, edge stitch.

Row 13: edge stitch, p1, * k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, p1, edge stitch.

Row 15: edge stitch, k2tog, yo, * k3, yo, cdd, yo *; repeat from * to *; k3, yo, skpo, edge stitch.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
