Fancy Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Fancy Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 16 sts + 1 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 19 sts (16 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work sts as they appear or as given in instructions; work yarn overs Purl.

The patt rep = 16 sts wide. 

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt repeat throughout, end with 1 st after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

yo with st: make 1 yarn over, pass 1 stitch over on the right needle purlwise. On WS row, purl this st with yo together

cross 5Fp: slip 2 sts to 1st cable needle and hold in front; slip 1 st to 2nd cable needle and hold in back; K2; then P1 from 2nd cable needle; finally K2 from 1st cable needle

Row 1: edge st, * p1, skpo, k5, yo, p1, yo, k5, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, * p1, skpo, k4, yo, k1, p1, k1, yo, k4, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * p1, skpo, k3, yo, k2, p1, k2, yo, k3, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * p1, skpo, k2, yo, p1, k2, p1, k2, p1, yo, k2, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * p1, skpo, k1, yo, p2, k2, p1, k2, p2, yo, k1, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge st.
