Fancy Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 14 stitches plus 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 16 stitches (14 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows only the right-side rows.

On the wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear. Purl the stitches that are worked in garter stitch.

The pattern repeat is 14 stitches wide.

Repeat pattern between the edge stitches throughout.

purl gst (1 st in purl garter stitch): purl in right side and wrong side rows

cross 3 right (k/p): slip 1 st to cable needle, hold to back, K2, P1 from cable needle

cross 3 left (p/k): slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, P1, K2 from cable needle

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * k1, p2, cross 3 right, k2, cross 3 Left, p2, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear. When working purl garter stitch purl the stitches.

Row 3: edge stitch, * k1, p1, cross 3 right, p1, k2, p1, cross 3 Left, p1, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, * k1, cross 3 right, p2, k2, p2, cross 3 Left, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Rows 7 and 9: edge stitch, * purl gst, k2, p3, k2, p3, purl gst3 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 11: edge stitch, * k3, p3, k2, p3, k3 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
