How to knit Simple Stitch Pattern:
Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 13 stitches (10 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only Right Side Rows.
On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear.
The pattern repeat = 10 stitches wide.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 stitch after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.
k: Knit
p: Purl
Written Instruction:
Row 1 (right side): edge st, * p5, k1, p4 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work.
Row 3: edge st, * p4, k1, p1, k1, p3 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 5: edge st, * p3, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 7: edge st, * p2, (k1, p1) twice, k3, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 9: edge st, * p1, (k1, p1) twice, k5 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
