How to knit the Easy Checker Stitch:

Multiple of 12 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 14 sts (12 + 2 edge sts) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows RS rows and WS rows.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

Rows 1, 3 and 5: edge st, * p1, k4, p2, k4, p1, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 2, 4 and 6: edge st, * k1, p4, k2, p4, k1, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 7, 9, 11 and 13: edge st, * p1, k10, p1, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 8, 10 and 12: edge st, * k1, p2, k6, p2, k1, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 14, 16 and 18: edge st, * k1, p4, k2, p4, k1, repeat from *, edge st.

Rows 15 and 17: edge st, * p1, k4, p2, k4, p1, repeat from *, edge st.
