How to knit Diamond Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 19 stitches (1 + 8 + 8 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.
Read Right Side rows from right to left, Wrong Side rows from left to right.
The pattern repeat = 8 stitches wide.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
2-st RT (k1+k1): skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LT (k1+k1): knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st RTp (p1+p1): purl 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, purl first, drop both sts from LH needle together
2-st LTp (p1+p1): purl 2nd st from behind without dropping from LH needle, purl first, drop both sts from LH needle together

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, * k2, 2-st LT twice, k2 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
Row 2 (wrong side): edge stitch, * p1, 2-st LTp twice, 2-st RTp, p1 *; repeat from * to *; p1, edge stitch.
Row 3: edge stitch, k1, * 2-st RT twice, 2-st LT twice *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
Row 4: edge stitch, p1, * 2-st LTp, p2, 2-st RTp twice *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
