Diamond Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Diamond Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 16 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 35 stitches (8 + 16 + 9 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and yarn overs.

The patt rep = 16 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 8 sts before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 9 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

k: knit

p: purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, p1, yo, k3, skpo, k2 * k3, k2tog, k3, yo, p1, yo, k3, skpo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k3, k2tog, k3, yo, p1, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all stitches and yarn overs.

Row 3: edge st, p2, yo, k3, skpo, k1 * k2, k2tog, k3, yo, p3, yo, k3, skpo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k2, k2tog, k3, yo, p2, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p3, yo, k3, skpo, * k1, k2tog, k3, yo, p5, yo, k3, skpo *; repeat from * to *; k1, k2tog, k3, yo, p3, edge st.
