Diagonal Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Diagonal Stitch:

Multiple of 3 + 1 + 2 edge sts. 

Cast on 15 stitches (3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows RS rows and WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The pat rep = 3 sts.

slip wyif: slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at front of work

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

3from2sts: K2tog, work 1 yo without slipping the st from the needle, again K2tog

Row 1 (RS): edge st, * 3from2sts, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, edge st.

Row 2 (WS): edge st, p1, * p2tog tbl, p1, slip wyif, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k2, * 3from2sts, k1, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, edge st.

Row 4: edge st, p2, * p2tog tbl, p1, slip wyif, repeat from * to last 3 sts, p2, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k1, * 3from2sts, k1, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 6: edge st, * p2tog tbl, p1, slip wyif, repeat from * to last 2 sts, p1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-6 throughout.
