Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 24 stitches + 5 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 31 stitches (24 + 5 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.
Read Right Side rows from right to left, Wrong Side rows from left to right.
 
The pattern repeat = 24 stitches wide.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
pass1 over k3: Pick up the yarn from the 2nd stitch and place it on the right needle, knit 3 stitches and pass the yarn over these 3 stitches
 
Written Instructions:
Row 1 (right side): knit all stitches.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 (wrong side): knit all stitches.
Rows 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11: edge stitch, * (p1, pass1 over k3) 4 times, p1, k7 *; repeat from * to *; p1, pass1 over k3, p1, edge stitch.
Row 12: edge stitch, k5, * k12, p7, k5 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
Rows 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21: edge stitch, * p1, pass1 over k3, p1, k7, (p1, pass1 over k3) 3 times *; repeat from * to *; p1, pass1 over k3, p1, edge stitch.
Rows 14, 16, 18 and 20: knit all stitches.

Work rows 1-22 once, then repeat rows 3-22 throughout.
