Work with a multiple of 24 stitches + 5 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 31 stitches (24 + 5 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.

Read Right Side rows from right to left, Wrong Side rows from left to right.

The pattern repeat = 24 stitches wide.

Begin with Wrong Side Row 0 (Set-up row).

k: Knit

p: Purl

Set-up Row 0 (wrong side): Knit.

Rows 1, 5 and 9 (right side): edge stitch, * p1, pass1 over 3 sts, p1, (k1, p1) 4 times, pass1 over 3 sts, p1, k7 *; repeat from * to *; p1, pass1 over 3 sts, p1, edge stitch.

Rows 2, 6 and 10 (wrong side): edge stitch, k5, * p7, k6, (p1, k1) 3 times, k5 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Rows 3 and 7: edge stitch, * p1, pass1 over 3 sts, p1, (k1, p1) 4 times, pass1 over 3 sts, p8 *; repeat from * to *; p1, pass1 over 3 sts, p1, edge stitch.
