Cable Stitch Knitting Stitch 

How to knit Cable Stitch:

Cast on 39 stitches (37 + 2 edge sts) for border and work as foll:

Row 1: selv st (edge), alt K1, P1, end with K1 and selv st.

Row 2: purl all sts.

Repeat these 2 rows for border.

Cable Stitch:

Multiple of 33 + 5 + 2 selvage sts.

Work according to chart. 

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, purl first and last 5 sts, work remaining sts as they appear (= knit all knit stitches and purl all purl stitches).

The pat rep = 33 sts wide.

Begin with 1 selv st (edge), work patt rep throughout, end with 5 sts after patt rep and 1 selv st.

Work Rows 1-16 once, then repeat Rows 3-16 throughout.
