Honeycomb Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Honeycomb Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 4 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 14 stitches (4 + 4 + 4 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the сhart.

The chart shows only right side rows.

On wrong side rows, purl all stitches.

The pattern repeat = 4 stitches.

Repeat pattern between edge stitches throughout.

Abbreviation:

2-st RT (k1+k1): skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

2-st LT (k1+k1): knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

Written Instructions:

Row 1: edge stitch, * 2-st RT, 2-st LT *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all stitches.

Row 3: edge stitch, * 2-st LT, 2-st RT *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.

Repeat Rows 1-14 throughout.
