How to knit the Embossed Leaf Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 7 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 17 stitches (8 + 7 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.
The chart shows right-side rows and wrong-side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate right side rows, and at left edge wrong side rows.
Read right-side rows from right to left, wrong side rows from left to right.
The pattern repeat is 8 stitches wide.

k: knit
p: purl
knit leaf: Insert the needle into the stitch 5 rows below and pull up a loop, insert the needle into the stitch 4 rows below and pull up a loop, insert the needle into the stitch 3 rows below and pull up a loop, insert the needle into the stitch 2 rows below and pull up a loop, insert the needle into the stitch 1 row below and pull up a loop, knit the next stitch on the left needle through the back loop, then pass each of the pulled-up loops one by one from right to left over the twisted knit stitch, i.e., drop 5 loops from the right needle, leaving 1 twisted knit stitch
