How to knit a Top with a Lace Wavy Pattern:
Size: US size 12 / UK size 16
Materials:
200 g of yarn (100% cotton, 420 m/460 yards per 150 g); knitting needles size 3.5 mm and 4 mm (US size 4 and US size 6).
Purl Garter Stitch: Purl all stitches in both right-side and wrong-side rows.
Stockinette Stitch: Knit all stitches on right-side rows, purl all stitches on wrong-side rows.
Lace Wavy Pattern:
The number of stitches is a multiple of 10 plus 1 plus 2 edge stitches.
Work according to the chart, which shows only the right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, knit the stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern repeat across the row, and end with 1 stitch after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat rows 1 through 16 for the pattern height.
Gauge:
in lace wavy pattern:
23 stitches and 34 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm)
Back/Front:
With size 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, cast on 91 stitches.
Knit 4 rows in purl garter stitch (equal to rows 1–4 of the chart), then switch to size 4 mm (US 6) needles and continue in lace wavy pattern.
After 11 inches (28 cm) from the cast-on edge, continue in stockinette stitch.
At 14.25 inches (36 cm), for the armholes, bind off 7 stitches at each edge once, then decrease 1 stitch at each edge every other row 3 times.
At 18.5 inches (47 cm), bind off the center 32 stitches for the neckline and finish each side separately.
At the neck edge, decrease 1 stitch after 2 edge stitches every other row 6 times.
At 21.25 inches (54 cm), bind off the remaining 13 stitches for each shoulder.
Finishing:
Sew one shoulder seam.
For the neckline border, with size 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, pick up 107 stitches evenly around the neckline and knit 4 rows in purl garter stitch; bind off all stitches.
Sew the second shoulder seam.
Pick up 74 stitches around each armhole with size 3.5 mm (US 4) needles and work the armhole borders the same way as for the neckline.
Sew the side seams.
