Sweater with Wavy Border

How to knit the sweater with a wavy border:
Size: EU 40/42 (US 10/12, UK 14/16)
Materials:
950 g yarn (70% alpaca wool, 30% wool, 100 m/50 g); straight knitting needles 4 mm (US 6), circular knitting needles 3 mm (US 2.5).

Ribbing Pattern: work alternately 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.
Stockinette stitch, in the round: work all stitches as knit stitches.
Reverse stockinette stitch, in the round: work all stitches as purl stitches.
Border pattern: * 2 rounds stockinette stitch, 2 rounds reverse stockinette stitch, repeat from * 2 more times, 1 round Ribbing Pattern.
Half Brioche Pattern:
Row 1: edge stitch, alternately 1 purl stitch, 1 knit stitch, end with 1 purl stitch, edge stitch.
Row 2: work the stitches as they appear.
Row 3: edge stitch, * 1 purl stitch, 1 brioche stitch (= knit 1 stitch by inserting the needle into the corresponding stitch 1 row below, the stitch of the previous row is dropped), repeat from *, end with 1 purl stitch, edge stitch.
Work Rows 1 to 3 once, then repeat Rows 2 and 3.
Main pattern: number of stitches multiple of 40 + 9 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to Chart 1, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern stitches throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work Rows 1 to 6 once, then repeat Rows 3 to 6.
Wave pattern over 29 stitches:
Work according to Chart 2.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
* Repeat Rows 1 to 4 eight times, repeat Rows 5 to 8 eight times, repeat from *.

Gauge:
Main pattern (measured in the center of the garment): 22.5 stitches and 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches);
Half Brioche Pattern: 20.5 stitches and 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches);
Wave pattern: 38 rows = 10 cm (4 inches).

Back:
Cast on 131 stitches, work 1 wrong-side row with purl stitches and continue with the main pattern.
After 29.5 cm (11 5/8 inches) = 103 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off 4 stitches at each side once for the raglan shaping, then decrease 38 times in every 2nd row as follows:
At the right edge, work the 9th and 10th stitches together as a purl stitch; at the left edge, work the 10th and 9th stitches together as a purl stitch.
After 52 cm (20 1/2 inches) = 181 rows from the cast-on edge, place the remaining 47 stitches on hold.

Front:
Work as for the back, but decrease for the raglan shaping 34 times in every 2nd row by 1 stitch and work the neckline.
After 45.5 cm (18 inches) = 159 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 9 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For the neckline shaping, bind off at the inner edge in every 2nd row 4 stitches once, 3 stitches once, 2 stitches three times and 1 stitch four times.
Bind off the remaining 2 stitches at the height of the back.

Sleeves:
Cast on 57 stitches for each sleeve and work in the Half Brioche Pattern.
At the same time, increase at both sides from the cast-on edge 18 times by 1 stitch in every 6th row and 5 times by 1 stitch in every 4th row, working the increased stitches into the pattern = 103 stitches.
After 37 cm (14 5/8 inches) = 132 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off 3 stitches at each side.
Then for the raglan shaping, decrease at both sides 41 times in every 2nd row by 1 stitch as follows:
At the right edge, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 stitch and pass the slipped stitch over it; at the left edge, work the 3rd and 2nd stitches from the end together as a knit stitch.
After 60 cm (23 5/8 inches) = 216 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 15 stitches.

Wavy border:
Cast on 29 stitches, work 1 wrong-side row with knit stitches and * work 4 cm (1 5/8 inches) = 14 rows in the Half Brioche Pattern.
Continue with the Wave Pattern.
After 54 cm (21 1/4 inches) = 207 rows from the cast-on edge, work another 4 cm (1 5/8 inches) = 14 rows in the Half Brioche Pattern, repeat from * once, then work 1 row with knit stitches.
After 116 cm (45 5/8 inches) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Work the left side seam; sew the left edge of the border to the lower edge of the front and back.
Work the second side seam, including the border seam.
Work the raglan seams.
Transfer the stitches on hold to circular needles, pick up 54 stitches along the front neckline (= 131 stitches) and work in the Border Pattern.
After 3 cm (1 1/8 inches) = 13 rows from the beginning of the neckline border, bind off all stitches following the pattern.
Set in the sleeves, work the side seams and sleeve seams.
