Sweater with Round Yoke

How to knit the Sweater with Round Yoke:
Size: European 38/40 (US 8/10, UK 12/14).
Materials:
400 g yarn (60% cotton, 40% polyacrylic, 142 yds/1.76 oz); straight and circular knitting needles US 4 (3.5 mm).

Stockinette Stitch: on right-side rows work knit stitches, on wrong-side rows work purl stitches; in the round work all stitches knit.
Garter Stitch: on right-side and wrong-side rows work knit stitches; in the round alternately work 1 round knit and 1 round purl.
Border Pattern: multiple of 24 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart 1, only right-side rows are shown.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work rows 1-24 once.
Yoke Pattern: multiple of 26 stitches.
Work according to chart 2, only odd-numbered rounds are shown, in even-numbered rounds work all stitches and yarn overs as they appear.
Work rounds 13-42 once, then continuously repeat rounds 43 and 44.

Gauge: 22.5 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

Back:
Cast on 123 stitches and work 5 rows in Garter Stitch, then work the Border Pattern and continue in Stockinette Stitch.
After 11.5 inches = 93 rows (29 cm) from the cast-on edge bind off 2 stitches at both sides for the raglan shaping, then decrease 1 stitch 11 times in every 2nd row.
At the same time, after 13 inches = 105 rows (33 cm) from the cast-on edge place the middle 87 stitches on hold for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping place 3 stitches on hold once and 1 stitch twice at the inner edge in every 2nd row, turning the work each time with 1 yarn over.
After 14.25 inches = 117 rows (36.5 cm) from the cast-on edge all stitches are bound off or placed on hold.


Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 12.25 inches = 99 rows (31 cm) from the cast-on edge place the middle 79 stitches on hold and for neckline shaping place 3 stitches on hold once, 2 stitches on hold once and 1 stitch on hold 4 times in every 2nd row.

Sleeves:
Cast on 75 stitches for each sleeve and work 5 rows in Garter Stitch, then work the Border Pattern and continue in Stockinette Stitch.
At the same time increase 1 stitch at both sides 11 times in every 4th row, beginning from the cast-on edge, and work the increased stitches in Stockinette Stitch = 97 stitches.
After 5.75 inches = 47 rows (14.5 cm) from the cast-on edge bind off 2 stitches at both sides for the raglan shaping, then decrease 1 stitch 11 times in every 2nd row.
After 8.75 inches = 71 rows (22 cm) from the cast-on edge place the remaining 71 stitches on hold.

Finishing:
Transfer all 336 stitches and yarn overs from hold onto the circular needles and work 6 rounds in Garter Stitch, in the 1st round working the yarn overs together with the previous or following stitches to avoid holes.
Then continue as follows: 12 rounds in Stockinette Stitch, in the 6th round knit together the 13th and 14th stitches 24 times = 312 stitches.
In the 13th round begin the Yoke Pattern, distributing the pattern from the center of the front.
In the 13th and 21st rounds of the Yoke Pattern knit together both stitches after the slip-slip-pass-over decrease or both stitches before the 2 stitches worked together = 264 stitches.
Work the following decreases according to the chart = 192 stitches.
In the 51st round of the Yoke Pattern purl 3 stitches together = 168 stitches.
In the 52nd round work together the 2nd and 3rd stitches 56 times in pattern.
Work the remaining 112 stitches for 6 rounds in Garter Stitch, then bind off all stitches.
Sew the seams.
