Work according to the chart, which shows right-side and wrong-side rows.
Repeat rows 1–18.
Gauge:
Stocking Stitch on 4 mm needles: 22 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
The pullover is worked from top to bottom.
Back:
Cast on 83 (95) 101 (107) stitches on 3 mm needles and work 11 rows in Garter Stitch, at the same time work the outermost stitch on each side in Stocking Stitch until the end of the work (= edge stitches).
Then work 2 rows in Stocking Stitch.
Change to 4 mm needles and work in the main pattern, beginning with row 1 of the chart, as follows: 1 edge stitch, 3 stitches to the right of the pattern repeat, then repeat the 6 stitches of the pattern repeat 13 (15) 16 (17) times and finish with 1 edge stitch.
At a height of 15.5 (16.5) 17.5 (17) cm increase 1 stitch on each side for the armholes, working 1 edge stitch from the edge: on a right-side row work 1 knit stitch, increase 1 stitch (= pick up the horizontal strand between stitches and knit the stitch through the back loop according to the pattern), then work stitches according to the pattern until 1 stitch remains, increase 1 stitch and work 1 knit stitch.
Repeat these increases on every 2nd row 3 (3) 3 (5) times, then cast on 5 (5) 5 (6) new stitches on each side = 101 (113) 119 (131) stitches.
Continue straight for another 12 (12) 13 (13) cm, then increase 1 stitch on each side for the side shaping.
Repeat these increases every 8 cm 2 more times = 107 (119) 125 (137) stitches.
At a height of 55 (56) 57 (58) 59 (60) cm and after working a strip of 6 rows in Reverse Stocking Stitch, work 2 rows in Garter Stitch and bind off all stitches.
Front: work in the same way as the back.
Sleeves:
Work the shoulder seams, leaving 28 (28) 30 (30) cm open for the neckline.
Then with 4 mm needles pick up 58 (63) 67 (66) stitches along the edge of the armhole, distributing the stitches evenly on both sides of the shoulder seam.
Work 8 rows in Reverse Stocking Stitch, at the same time for the sleeve cap increase 1 stitch on each side in the 2nd row as follows: work 1 purl stitch, increase 1 stitch, then work according to the pattern until 1 stitch remains, increase 1 stitch and work 1 knit stitch.
Repeat these increases on every 2nd row 4 (4) 4 (6) times.
Then cast on 4 (4) 4 (5) stitches on each side = 76 (81) 85 (90) stitches.
After working 8 rows in Reverse Stocking Stitch, work 1 wrong-side row with purl stitches and then continue in the main pattern, beginning with row 1 of the chart.
Calculate the beginning of the pattern from the arrow that marks the middle of the sleeve.
At a height of 3 cm from the armhole (from the last increase) decrease 1 stitch on each side for the sleeve shaping.
Repeat these decreases every 2.5 (2.5) 2.5 (2.5) cm 12 (13) 15 (16) times = 50 (53) 53 (56) stitches.
At a sleeve length of 46 (47) 48 (49) cm from the armhole and after working 2–6 rows in Reverse Stocking Stitch, work 2 rows in Garter Stitch and bind off the stitches.
Work the second sleeve in the same way.
Finishing:
Work the sleeve seams and the side seams.
