Materials:
500 (550) 600 g yarn (100% cotton, 110 m/50 g); size 2.5 and 4 US knitting needles / 3 and 3.5 mm knitting needles and size 2.5 US circular needles / 3 mm circular needles.
Stockinette Stitch: right-side rows - knit stitches, wrong-side rows - purl stitches.
Garter Stitch: knit all stitches.
Horizontal Rib Pattern: * 4 rows in Stockinette Stitch, 10 rows in Garter Stitch, 6 rows in Stockinette Stitch, repeat from *.
Vertical Lace Panel: work with a multiple of 3 stitches.
Work according to chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat the pattern repeat and Rows 1 to 4 throughout.
Cable Pattern (over 11 stitches):
Work according to chart 2, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work all stitches as they appear.
Repeat Rows 1 to 4 throughout.
Diamond Pattern (over 13 stitches):
Work according to chart 3, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 to 20 throughout.
Gauge: 22 stitches and 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
Back:
Cast on 109 (121) 133 stitches using 3 mm / US 2.5 knitting needles and work 1 wrong-side row in knit stitches, this row is not counted afterwards.

For the shaping at the inner edge bind off in every 2nd row 1 x 3 stitches and 1 x 2 stitches.
After 56 cm / 22 inches = 162 rows (58 cm / 22.75 inches = 168 rows) 60 cm / 23.5 inches = 174 rows from the beginning bind off the remaining 26 (31) 36 shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 48 cm / 19 inches = 140 rows (50 cm / 19.75 inches = 146 rows) 52 cm / 20.5 inches = 152 rows from the beginning bind off the middle 13 (15) 17 stitches and finish both sides separately.

For the sleeve shaping increase at the same time on both sides in the Vertical Lace Panel 15 x in every 8th row (12 x in every 8th row and 4 x in every 6th row) 12 x alternately in every 6th and 8th row and 6 x in every 6th row 1 stitch each time = 75 (83) 93 stitches.

Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Using the circular needles pick up 105 (109) 113 stitches along the neckline edge and work 1 round in purl stitches, then bind off all stitches knitwise.
Join the side seams and sleeve seams. Sew in the sleeves.
