Gauge: 26.5 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm);
Ribbing Pattern: 28 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

Front:
Using US 2 (3 mm) needles, cast on 145 (157/167) stitches and work as follows: 1 edge stitch, 7 stitches in Reverse Stocking Stitch (13 stitches of the pattern repeat once/3 stitches in Reverse Stocking Stitch, last 15 stitches of the pattern repeat once), work the chart repeat 5 (5/6) times, work the first 9 stitches of the pattern repeat once and 7 stitches in Reverse Stocking Stitch (the first 22 stitches of the pattern repeat once/3 stitches in Reverse Stocking Stitch), 1 edge stitch.
Continue repeating Rows 1–12 in this arrangement, changing to US 4 (3.5 mm) needles beginning with Row 11.
On Row 79, work Row 17 of the chart over the center 15 stitches and continue the pattern according to the chart on both sides.
At the same time, when the piece measures 22 inches (56 cm), bind off the center 13 stitches and on both sides bind off in every second row once 5 stitches, once 4 stitches, twice 3 stitches, once 2 stitches and 3 times 1 stitch.
When the piece measures 26 inches (66 cm), bind off the remaining stitches for each shoulder.

Back:
Work as for the Front, but with a shallower neckline.
For this, when the piece measures 25¼ inches (64 cm), bind off the center 27 stitches and then in every second row bind off once 9 stitches and once 4 stitches.

Sleeves:
Using US 4 (3.5 mm) needles, cast on 130 (142/142) stitches and work as follows: 1 edge stitch, 128 (140/140) stitches in Ribbing Pattern, 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, for the sleeve shaping, beginning from the cast-on edge, increase 1 stitch at each side every 6th row 5 times = 140 (152/152) stitches.
When the sleeve measures 4 inches (10 cm), bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
Using US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, pick up 132 stitches evenly around the neckline, work 1¾ inches (4.5 cm) in Ribbing Pattern and bind off all stitches.
Sew the side and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
