Raglan Sweater with Cable and Diamond Pattern

How to knit the sweater with Cable and Diamond Pattern:
Sizes: EU 40/42 (46/48) – US 8–10 (16–18), UK 12–14 (20–22)
Materials:
800 (850) g yarn (100 % natural wool, 125 m/50 g ≈ 137 yd/1.76 oz); straight needles 3.5 mm and 4 mm (US 4 and US 6; UK 9 and UK 8); circular needles 3.5 mm (US 4; UK 9).
Ribbing Pattern, 3.5 mm needles: alternately work 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.
All following patterns work with 4 mm needles.
Stockinette stitch: on right-side rows work knit stitches, on wrong-side rows work purl stitches.
Reverse stockinette stitch: on right-side rows work purl stitches, on wrong-side rows work knit stitches.
Cable 1 (width – 20 stitches):
Row 1: 7 purl stitches, 6 knit stitches, 7 purl stitches;
Rows 2 and 4: work the stitches as they appear;
Row 3: 7 purl stitches, cross 6 knit stitches to the left (= place 3 stitches on a cable needle in front of the work, work 3 knit stitches, then work the stitches from the cable needle as knit stitches), 7 purl stitches.
Repeat rows 1–4.
Cable 2 (width – 20 stitches):
Row 1: 7 purl stitches, cross 4 knit stitches to the left (= place 2 stitches on a cable needle in front of the work, work 2 knit stitches, then work the stitches from the cable needle as knit stitches), 2 knit stitches, 7 purl stitches;
Rows 2 and 4: work the stitches as they appear;
Row 3: 7 purl stitches, cross 4 knit stitches to the right (= place 2 stitches on a cable needle behind the work, work 2 knit stitches, then work the stitches from the cable needle as knit stitches), 7 purl stitches.
Repeat rows 1–4.
Diamond 1 (width – 20 stitches):
Work according to chart 1, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
Work rows 1–30 once.
Diamond 2 (width – 20 stitches): work as Diamond 1, but according to chart 2.
Work rows 1–24 once.
Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below: odd number of stitches,
Row 1: work 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch, repeat from *, end with 1 knit stitch;
Row 2: work the stitches as they appear;
Row 3: * work 1 knit stitch into the stitch below (= work 1 knit stitch by inserting the needle into the stitch below and letting the stitch above slip off the needle), 1 purl stitch, repeat from *, end with 1 knit stitch into the stitch below.
Work rows 1–3 once, then repeat rows 2 and 3.
Pattern sequence (width – 20 stitches): 32 (8) rows Cable 1, 30 rows Diamond 1, 16 rows Cable 2, 24 rows Diamond 2, all remaining rows Cable 2.
Figures in parentheses refer to the sleeve.
Gauge: 23 stitches and 32.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).

Front/Back:
Cast on 138 (150) stitches and distribute as follows: 1 edge stitch, 3 stitches reverse stockinette, * 5 (7) stitches Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, 20 stitches pattern sequence, repeat from * 4 more times, 5 (7) stitches Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, 3 stitches reverse stockinette, 1 edge stitch.
After 37.5 cm = 122 rows (14 3/4 inches) from the cast-on edge, finish the cables of the 1st, 3rd and 5th pattern sequence as follows: * on every 2nd row before Cable 1 make 1 yarn over, work the first 2 stitches of the cable with a slip-slip-pass-over decrease (= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, work the next stitch as a knit stitch and pass the slipped stitch over), work the next 2 stitches together as a knit stitch, make 1 yarn over * work from * twice; on the following wrong-side row work the last 2 stitches of the cable as purl stitches, then work all stitches of the pattern sequence in reverse stockinette stitch.
After 39 cm = 126 rows (15 3/8 inches) from the cast-on edge, bind off on both sides for the raglan slopes 2 stitches once, then decrease 1 stitch 49 times on every 2nd row.
For this, on the right side work 2 stitches together as purl stitches after the first strip of Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, and on the left side work 2 stitches together as purl stitches before the last strip of Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below.
After 45 cm = 146 rows (17 3/4 inches) from the cast-on edge, finish the cables of the 2nd and 4th pattern sequence in the same way as described above.
After 70 cm = 226 rows (27 1/2 inches) from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 36 (48) stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 50 (56) stitches and work 4 cm (1 1/2 inches) in Ribbing Pattern, evenly increase 8 (6) stitches in the last row = 58 (62) stitches.
Then distribute the stitches as follows: 1 edge stitch, 13 stitches pattern sequence (starting with the last 13 stitches of Cable 1), 5 (7) stitches Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, 20 stitches pattern sequence, 5 (7) stitches Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, 13 stitches pattern sequence (starting with the first 13 stitches of Cable 1), 1 edge stitch.
For the sleeve slopes, increase on both sides from the cast-on edge 1 stitch 31 times alternately on every 2nd and 4th row = 120 (124) stitches.
First incorporate the increases into the pattern sequence, then 5 (7) stitches into the Ribbing Pattern worked into the stitch below, and work the remaining stitches in reverse stockinette stitch.
After 29.5 cm = 96 rows (11 5/8 inches) from the ribbing, work the raglan decreases as for the front and back.
At the same time, with the first decrease, finish both outer cables as described above.
After 37.5 cm = 122 rows (14 3/4 inches) from the ribbing, finish the center cable in the same way.
After 60.5 cm = 196 rows (23 3/4 inches) from the ribbing, bind off the remaining 18 (22) stitches.
Finishing:
Close the seams; sew in the sleeves.
Pick up 100 (120) stitches around the neckline with the circular needles, work 3 cm (1 1/8 inches) in Ribbing Pattern, 1 round purl stitches and 3 cm (1 1/8 inches) in Ribbing Pattern.
Bind off the stitches, fold the band to the inside and sew it in place.
