Pullover with Diamond Stitch Pattern
How to knit the pullover with diamond stitch pattern:
Size: US 8–10 / UK 12–14
Materials:
400 g yarn (55% acrylic and 45% cotton, 230 m/100 g); knitting needles size US 10.5 (UK 3) / 7 mm and circular needles size US 10 (UK 4) / 6 mm, 24 in (60 cm) long.
Ribbing Pattern 1/1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *.
Diamond Stitch Pattern:
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear; purl the yarn overs.
Gauge:
Diamond stitch pattern with needles size US 10.5 / UK 3 (7 mm) = 20 stitches x 26 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).
Back:
Cast on 84 stitches with needles size US 10.5 / UK 3 (7 mm) and work in diamond stitch pattern.
After 13.5 in (34 cm) from the beginning, for the armholes bind off at each side in every 2nd row 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, and 1 time 1 stitch.
After 20.5 in (52 cm) from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
At 18 in (46 cm) from the beginning, bind off the center 12 stitches and finish each side separately.
For shaping the neckline, bind off at the neck edge in every 2nd row 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, and 1 time 1 stitch.
At 20.5 in (52 cm) from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 36 stitches with needles size US 10.5 / UK 3 (7 mm) and work in diamond stitch pattern.
For sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side every 12th row 8 times.
After 16.5 in (42 cm) from the beginning, for the sleeve cap bind off at each side in every 2nd row 1 time 3 stitches and 16 times 1 stitch.
After 22 in (56 cm) from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
With circular needles size US 10 (UK 4) / 6 mm, pick up 78 stitches along the neckline edge and work in ribbing pattern 1/1.
After 1.5 in (4 cm) from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Sew in the sleeves.
Sew the side and sleeve seams.
