On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
Repeat rows 1 to 30 throughout.
Vertical pattern over 10 stitches:

On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat the pattern stitches from stitch 6 to stitch 15 throughout.
For the vertical pattern work rows 1 to 4, for the lace vertical pattern work rows 5 to 12.
Gauge:
Vertical pattern: 27 stitches and 37.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).
Cable pattern: 22 stitches = 5 cm (2 inches) width.
Front:
Cast on 164 (184) stitches and work between the edge stitches 70 (80) stitches in the vertical pattern, 22 stitches in the cable pattern, and 70 (80) stitches in the vertical pattern.
After 15 cm (6 inches) from the cast-on edge, bind off 40 stitches on each side at a distance of 14 (18) stitches from the cast-on edge.
For the pocket linings, cast on 40 stitches for each pocket and work 10 cm (4 inches) in Ribbing Pattern.
Insert these stitches into the work in place of the bound-off stitches.
Continue to work the lace vertical pattern over the ribbing stitches.
After 37 cm (14.5 inches) from the cast-on edge, shape the raglan slopes by binding off in every second row 5 (15) times alternately * 1 time 2 stitches and 9 (2) times 1 stitch *.
Then bind off a further 4 (9) times 1 stitch in every second row.
After 21 cm (8.25 inches) from the beginning of the raglan slopes, bind off the center 12 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
To shape the neckline, bind off at the inner edge in every second row 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, and 5 times 2 stitches.
After 28 cm (11 inches) from the beginning of the raglan slopes, all stitches are bound off.
Back:
Work as for the front, but without pockets and without a neckline.
Bind off the remaining 46 shoulder stitches at a height of 29 cm (11.5 inches) from the beginning of the raglan slopes.
Cable strips for the raglan lines:
Cast on 24 stitches and work 4 cables between the edge stitches; the length of the strips equals the length of the raglan slopes.
Sleeves:
Cast on 54 (64) stitches and work between the edge stitches in the vertical pattern, starting at arrow A (B).
For the sleeve shaping, increase on both sides from the cast-on edge 10 (0) times 1 stitch in every fourth row, 36 times 1 stitch in every third row, and 0 (16) times 1 stitch in every second row, working the increased stitches into the pattern.
After 40 (38) cm (15.75 (15) inches) from the cast-on edge, bind off 14 stitches once on each side, then work the raglan slopes as for the front.
After 28 rows from the beginning of the raglan slopes, all stitches are bound off.
Finishing:
Work the raglan seams, side seams, and sleeve seams.
Pick up 120 stitches around the neckline with circular knitting needles, work 3 cm (1.25 inches) in Ribbing Pattern, and bind off the stitches.
Crochet the pocket edges back and forth: work 1 row of single crochet along the edge of the bound-off stitches.
When working the second row of single crochet, insert the hook into the same stitches as in the first row.
