Long Cardigan with Belt

How to knit the long cardigan with a belt:
Size: US 8–10 / UK 12–14 (EU 38–40)
Materials:
700 g/24.7 oz yarn (80 % merino wool, 20 % angora, yardage 131 yd per 1.76 oz), US size 6 knitting needles, US size G crochet hook.
Stockinette stitch: on right-side rows knit stitches, on wrong-side rows purl stitches.
Ribbing Pattern 2/2: alternate 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches.
Lace Leaf Stitch (Main Pattern):
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Gauge: 16 stitches and 20 rows = 4 by 4 inches.
Back:
Cast on 110 stitches and work 22 rows in Ribbing Pattern.
Then distribute the stitches as follows: 25 stitches stockinette stitch, main pattern according to the chart, 8 stitches stockinette stitch, main pattern, 25 stitches stockinette stitch.
For waist shaping, decrease 1 stitch in rows 17, 23, and 29.
Work 83 rows to the armhole, then decrease on both sides on every right-side row: 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, then on every second right-side row decrease 1 stitch 4 times.
To widen the armhole, increase 1 stitch on both sides in rows 122, 128, and 132.
For the shoulder line, beginning with row 141, decrease 6 stitches 4 times.
For the neckline, beginning with row 147, first decrease 12 stitches, then 6 stitches.
Bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Right Front:
Cast on 56 stitches and work 22 rows in Ribbing Pattern.
Then work 9 stitches stockinette stitch, main pattern, 8 stitches stockinette stitch, main pattern, 21 stitches stockinette stitch.
For waist shaping, decrease 1 stitch in rows 17, 23, and 29.
Work 83 rows to the armhole, then decrease on every right-side row: 1 time 5 stitches, 3 times 3 stitches, 3 times 2 stitches, then on every second right-side row decrease 1 stitch 4 times.
To widen the armhole, increase 1 stitch in rows 122, 128, and 132.
For the shoulder line, beginning with row 141, decrease 6 stitches 4 times.
For the neckline, beginning with row 83, decrease 1 stitch on every 6th row 8 times.
Bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Left Front:
Work the same as the right front, reversing shaping.
Sleeves:
Cast on 44 stitches and work 40 rows in Ribbing Pattern.
Then work in stockinette stitch, increasing 1 stitch on every 7th row for sleeve shaping, for a total of 10 increases.
After 70 rows worked in stockinette stitch, begin shaping the sleeve cap.
Decrease 3 stitches 4 times, 1 stitch 3 times, 1 stitch 2 times every other right-side row, then decrease on every right-side row 1 stitch 2 times and 3 stitches 3 times.

Finishing:
Work shoulder seams, side seams, and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
Collar:
Pick up 312 stitches along the neckline and front edges and work 22 rows in Ribbing Pattern, then bind off 72 stitches on each side of the collar.
Then continue working, decreasing 4 stitches on every row, for a total of 15 decreases.
Bind off the remaining stitches.
Crochet the collar with 1 round of single crochet and 1 round of crab stitch.
Belt Loops:
With the crochet hook, work a chain of 13 chain stitches, then work 13 single crochet stitches in the next row, fasten off.
Work the second loop in the same way.
Sew the loops at waist level.
Belt:
Cast on 6 stitches, in the next row work 2 stitches from each cast-on stitch, for a total of 12 stitches.
Then work as follows: * work 1 stitch knit, slip the next stitch purlwise, repeat from * 6 times.
Work a total length of 63 inches and bind off the stitches.
