Materials:
550 (650) g yarn (100% cotton, 153 yd/1.76 oz); US 2 and US 4 circular needles (3 mm and 3.5 mm).
Lace Pattern: Multiple of 17 stitches.
Work according to chart.
The chart shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.
Repeat the pattern repeat throughout.
Work Rows 1–40 once, then repeat Rows 17–40 throughout.
Gauge: 22 stitches and 37 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).
Back:
For one point, cast on 3 stitches and work Rows 1–12 according to the chart.
Work a total of 7 (8) points and join them together in Row 13 = 119 (136) stitches.
Then continue in Lace Pattern.
For the neckline, after 26.8 in (68 cm) = 252 rows from cast-on, bind off the center 19 (24) stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off 5 stitches twice on every 2nd row at the inner edge.
After 27.6 in (70 cm) = 260 rows from cast-on, bind off the remaining 40 (46) shoulder stitches on each side.
Front:
Work as for the Back, but for the deeper neckline, after 24.4 in (62 cm) = 230 rows from cast-on, bind off the center 7 (12) stitches and shape the neckline by binding off on every 2nd row: 4 stitches once, 3 stitches once, 2 stitches twice and 1 stitch once, then on every 4th row bind off 1 stitch 4 times.
Sleeves:
Work a total of 3 points as described for the Back and join them together in Row 13 = 51 stitches.
Then continue in Lace Pattern.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side 32 times alternately on every 4th and 6th row, working the new stitches into the pattern = 115 stitches.
After 17.3 in (44 cm) = 162 rows from cast-on, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Close the seams.
Pick up approximately 115 stitches around the neckline, work 1 round of purl stitches and then work 2 in (5 cm) in Stockinette Stitch in the round (knit all stitches).
Then bind off all stitches loosely. Set in the sleeves.
