How to knit the Lace Pattern Sweater:
Sizes: US 4/6 (8/10) 12/14
Finished measurements:
Bust approximately 37.75 (44.5) 51 in / 96 (113) 130 cm
Materials:
14.1 (17.6) 21.2 oz / 400 (500) 600 g yarn (100% cotton, 98 yd/50 g). US 8 / UK 6 circular needles and US H-8 / UK 6 crochet hook.

Lace Pattern: multiple of 13 stitches + 9 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart, which shows right-side and wrong-side rows.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern throughout, end with stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1–4 throughout.

Gauge: 16.5 stitches and 21 rows = 4 x 4 in / 10 x 10 cm.

Back:
Cast on 76 (89) 102 stitches and work in Lace Pattern.
After 12.5 in / 32 cm = 68 rows (13 in / 33 cm = 70 rows) 13.5 in / 34 cm = 72 rows from cast-on, for armholes bind off at both sides in every 2nd row 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches and 2 x 1 stitch = 58 (71) 84 stitches.
After 19 in / 48 cm = 102 rows (20 in / 51 cm = 108 rows) 21.25 in / 54 cm = 114 rows from cast-on, for neckline bind off the center 26 (27) 28 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping at inner edge bind off in every 2nd row 1 x 4 stitches and 2 x 2 stitches.
After 20.5 in / 52 cm = 110 rows (21.75 in / 55 cm = 116 rows) 22.75 in / 58 cm = 122 rows from cast-on bind off remaining 8 (14) 20 stitches for each shoulder.


Front: Work as for back.

Sleeve:
Cast on 41 stitches and work in Lace Pattern, arranging pattern symmetrically from center.
At the same time, from cast-on for sleeve shaping at both sides increase 1 stitch in pattern 8 times alternately in every 8th and 10th row (2 times in every 8th row and 9 times in every 6th row) 14 times alternately in every 4th and 6th row = 57 (63) 69 stitches.
After 14.25 in / 36 cm = 76 rows from cast-on, for sleeve cap bind off at both sides in every 2nd row 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, 1 x 1 stitch, then in every 4th row 5 x 1 stitch; then again in every 2nd row 1 x 1 stitch, 1 x 2 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches and 2 x 4 stitches.
After 21 in / 53 cm = 112 rows from cast-on bind off remaining 7 (13) 19 stitches.

Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Work crab stitch around neckline edge (= single crochet from left to right).
Sew side seams and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
