Lace Leaf Pattern Sweater

How to knit the Leaf Pattern Sweater:
Sizes: UK 10/12, US 6/8, EU 36/38 and UK 18/20, US 14/16, EU 44/46.
Materials:
550 (600) g cotton yarn (100% cotton; 128 yd/1.76 oz); US 3 and US 6 knitting needles; US 6 circular needle, 16 inches long.

Ribbing Pattern, US 3 needles: Work * knit 1, purl 1, repeat from * throughout.

Lace Leaf Pattern (Main Pattern), US 6 needles:
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1–12 throughout.

Gauge: 23 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 inches.

Back:
Cast on 104 (118) stitches and work 2¾ inches in Ribbing Pattern, increasing 20 (23) stitches evenly across the last row = 124 (141) stitches.
Continue in Main Pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, 7 (8) pattern repeats, stitches 1–3 of the pattern repeat, 1 edge stitch.
At a height of 23½ (24½) inches, bind off the center 34 (37) stitches for the neckline, then on both sides bind off 3 stitches twice on every other row.
At a height of 24½ (25¼) inches, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.


Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
At a height of 21¼ (22) inches, bind off the center 20 (23) stitches, then on both sides bind off 3 stitches once, 2 stitches twice, and 1 stitch 6 times on every other row.
At a height of 24½ (25¼) inches, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.

Sleeves:
Cast on 42 (46) stitches and work 2¾ inches in Ribbing Pattern, increasing 20 stitches evenly across the last row = 62 (66) stitches.
Continue in Main Pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, stitches 15 (13)–17 of the pattern repeat, 3 pattern repeats, stitches 1–6 (8) of the pattern repeat, 1 edge stitch.
For sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side every 6th row 13 times (9 times), then every 4th row 10 times (16 times) = 108 (116) stitches.
At a height of 17¾ inches, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
Using the circular needle, pick up and knit 126 (135) stitches evenly around the neckline and work as follows:
Row 1: * knit 1, yarn over, knit 2, knit 2 together twice, knit 2, yarn over, repeat from * throughout.
Row 2: Purl all stitches and yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 twice more, then bind off all stitches loosely.
Sew the side and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
