Lace Cardigan with Decorative Hem

How to knit the lace cardigan with decorative hem:
Sizes: 12/14 (20/22) 26/28
To fit bust: 96/102 (116/122) 132/138 cm (38/40 (46/48) 52/54 in)
Materials:
750 (800) 850 g yarn (70% silk, 30% polyamide, 68 m/50 g); circular needles 6 mm (US 10 / UK 4); crochet hook 5 mm (US H-8 / UK 6); 6 buttons.

Reverse Stockinette Stitch: on right-side rows purl stitches, on wrong-side rows knit stitches.
Lace pattern with decorative hem: work according to the chart, repeating the pattern repeat.
Work rows 1 to 45 once, then repeat rows 36 to 45 throughout.
Row 1 – wrong-side row, on all other unmarked wrong-side rows work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Pattern for the bands:
Row/round 1: * 1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch, skip 1 stitch, repeat from *, ending with 1 single crochet.
Row/round 2: work as row/round 1, placing the single crochet stitches into the chain stitches of the previous row/round.
Row/round 3: reverse single crochet (work single crochet from left to right, inserting the hook into the chain stitches of the previous row/round, skipping the single crochet stitches).

Gauge, lace pattern: 14.5 stitches and 22.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Cast on 86 (107) 128 stitches and work in lace pattern.
After 42 cm (16.5 in) from cast-on bind off 5 (7) 7 stitches at both sides for armholes and on every 2nd row bind off 1 x 3, 1 x 2 and 3 (3) 4 x 1 stitch.
After 65 (66) 66 cm (25.5 (26) 26 in) from cast-on bind off the middle 14 (17) 20 stitches for neckline and finish both sides separately.
For rounding, on the inner edge bind off 1 x 6 stitches on the next 2nd row and bind off the remaining stitches at a height of 67 (68) 68 cm (26.5 (26.5) 26.5 in).


Right front:
Cast on 45 (56) 66 stitches and work as follows: 1 edge stitch, 1 stitch in reverse stockinette stitch, 42 (53) 63 stitches lace pattern, 1 edge stitch.
Work armhole as for the back.
After 45 (46) 46 cm (17.5 (18) 18 in) from cast-on decrease for neckline on the right side 1 stitch, then on every 2nd row 0 (4) 6 x 1 stitch and alternately on every 2nd and 4th row 15 (13) 12 x 1 stitch as follows: 1 edge stitch, 1 stitch in reverse stockinette stitch, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass the slipped stitch over.
Bind off the remaining stitches at the same height as the back.
Left front:
Work symmetrically.
For neckline on the left side knit 2 stitches together, 1 stitch in reverse stockinette stitch, 1 edge stitch.
Sleeves:
Cast on 34 stitches + 2 edge stitches and work in lace pattern.
For sleeve shaping increase on both sides on every 4th row 20 (19) 19 x 1 stitch and on every 2nd row 0 (3) 3 x 1 stitch, incorporating the new stitches into the pattern.
After 37.5 cm (14.5 in) from cast-on bind off for sleeve cap on both sides 5 stitches, then on every 2nd row 2 x 3, 3 x 2, 5 (7) 8 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x 3, 1 x 4 stitches.
At a height of 50 (51.5) 52.5 cm (19.5 (20.5) 20.5 in) bind off the remaining stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up the required number of stitches along the neckline and front edges, work 1 row knit through the back loop and bind off knitwise.
Then crochet the band pattern along these edges, working evenly 6 buttonholes in the first row from the lower edge up to the neckline (work 2 chain stitches over 2 stitches).
Fold sleeves in half and set in, sew remaining seams.
Crochet the lower edges of the cardigan and sleeves with 1 round of single crochet and reverse single crochet, skipping 1 stitch of the previous round in the second round.
Sew on buttons.
