Knitted Sweater with V-Neck
How to knit the sweater with V-neck:
Size: UK 12–14 / US 8–10
Materials:
200 g yarn (70% angora, 30% acrylic, 525 m/100 g; approx. 574 yds/3.53 oz); needles 2.5 mm (US 1.5); crochet hook 2.5 mm (US C/2).
Stockinette stitch: right-side rows knit stitches, wrong-side rows purl stitches.
Lace pattern:
Work according to chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern throughout, end with 1 stitch after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work rows 1 to 26 once.
Lace band (crochet):
Work according to chart 2.
Repeat rows 1 to 4 throughout.
Gauge (knitting): 26 stitches x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).
Back:
Cast on 111 stitches and work 26 rows in the lace pattern.
Continue in stockinette stitch.
At a height of 39 cm (15.4 inches) from cast-on for armholes bind off on both sides in every 2nd row 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches and 1 time 1 stitch = 91 stitches.
At a height of 59 cm (23.2 inches) from cast-on for neckline bind off the middle 19 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For shaping, bind off on the inner edge in every 2nd row 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches and 1 time 2 stitches.
At the same time for shoulder slope bind off on the outer edge in every 2nd row 3 times 9 stitches.
Front:
Work armholes and shoulder slope as for the back.
For neckline at a height of 34 cm (13.4 inches) from cast-on bind off the middle stitch and finish both sides separately.
For shaping the neckline bind off on the inner edge 1 stitch in every 4th row 18 times.
Sleeve:
Cast on 57 stitches and work 26 rows in the lace pattern.
Continue in stockinette stitch.
For sleeve shaping increase on both sides in every 6th row 11 times 1 stitch, in every 12th row 3 times 1 stitch = 85 stitches.
At a height of 42 cm (16.5 inches) from cast-on for sleeve cap bind off on both sides 5 stitches and in every 2nd row 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, 21 times 1 stitch, 1 time 2 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches.
At a height of 57 cm (22.4 inches) from cast-on bind off the remaining 13 stitches.
Work the second sleeve the same way.
Finishing:
Work shoulder seams.
For the edging crochet the lace band.
Along the edge of the neckline work 1 round of single crochet.
Attach the band along the neckline edge in the following order:
Turn the work right side facing, begin at the center of the front.
* Work 2 double crochet into 2 single crochet of the first row, pick up a loop from the band and work 1 single crochet into the 3rd stitch of the first row, work 1 chain stitch; repeat from * throughout.
Work side seams and sleeve seams.
