Tunic with Lace Diamonds

Size: M-L

Materials: 

Yarn: 400 g (55% Cotton, 45% Polyacrylic, yardage = 160 m/50 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 2.5 mm (US 1.5).

Rib Pattern: alt K1, P1.

Garter st (gst): RS and WS rows K.

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev st st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K.

Lace Pattern with Cables:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.

Lace Diamonds Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Repeat Rows 1-36 throughout.

Gauge: 21 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work top down.

Back: 

Cast on 55 sts and work 5.5 row reps of Lace Diamonds Pattern (= 198 rows).

For expansion, work yos at a distance of 2 sts from each end on every 2nd row and work them as they appear on foll row. 

Then work 6 rows in gst and bind off sts.

Front: 

Cast on 65 sts and work as foll: 21 sts in Rev St st, 23 sts in Lace Pattern with Cables, 21 sts in Rev St st. 

For raglan, at a distance of 3 sts from Lace Pattern with Cables, work yos on every 2nd row, and work them as they appear on foll row. 

For side slants, after 60 rows (= 125 sts on needles) work 2 last sts tog on every row. 

Work 17 row reps of Lace Pattern with Cables (= 170 rows), then work 6 rows in gst and bind off all sts.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 29 sts and work as foll: 3 sts in Rev St st, 23 sts in Lace Pattern with Cables, 3 sts in Rev St st. 

For raglan, work yos at a distance of 2 sts from each end on every 2nd row and work them as they appear on foll row.

In this way, inc 17 sts at each end (= 63 sts). 

Work 3 row reps of Lace Pattern with Cables, then work 6 rows in gst and bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Sew raglan seams and side seams. 

With circular needle, pick up 180 sts evenly around neck edge and work 12 rnds in Rib Patt. Bind off all sts.
