Tunic in Lace Pattern with Leaves

Size: 10/12 (US 6/8)

Materials: 

Yarn: 600 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 100 g / 280 m); 1 pair quick knit needles and 1 circular needle, both size 4 mm (US 6).

Rib Patt: K1, P1 Rib.

Stockinette stitch (St st): K on RS rows, p on WS rows.

Lace Cable:

Work according to chart 3. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Repeat rows 1-12 throughout.

Cable:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear.

Repeat rows 1-4 throughout.

Cable with Leaves:

Work acc to charts 2 and 4. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Rep rows 1-10 throughout.

Gauge: 19 sts and 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Cast on 96 sts and work 2 rows in Rib Patt.

Cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in St st, 10 sts in Cable, 16 sts in Cable with Leaves, 22 sts in Lace Cable, 16 sts in Cable with Leaves, 10 sts in Cable, 10 sts in St st, selv st. 

For waist shaping, after 18 cm bind off 1 st each side every 10th row 6 times = 84 sts. 

Armhole Shaping: After 54 cm from beg, bind off at each end 3 sts once and 1 st twice on every 2nd row = 74 sts. 

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 70 cm from beg, bind off center 24 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and rem 20 sts once for shoulder.

Front: 

Work as given for back, but for neckline, when work meas 64 cm from beg, bind off centre 14 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st 3 times on every 2nd row. 

When work meas 72 cm from beg, bind off 20 sts for shoulder.

Sleeve: 

Cast on 52 sts and work 4 rows in Rib Patt.

Cont as foll: selv st, 6 sts in St st, 10 sts in Cable, 3rd-20th sts in Lace Cable, 10 sts in Cable, 6 sts in St st, selv st. 

For sleeve shaping inc 1 st each side every 6th row 5 times = 62 sts. 

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 15 cm from beg, on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 4 times, 2 sts once, 3 sts 3 times and rem 22 sts once.

Finishing: 

Close shoulder seams. 

Collar: With RS facing and circular needle, pick up 100 sts evenly around neck edge and work 22 cm in Rib Pattern. Bind off sts loosely. 

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
