Tunic in Garter Stitch with Cable

Size: M

Materials: 

Yarn: 500 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 250 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6).

Garter st (gst): RS and WS rows K.

Stockinette stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Gauge: 20 sts and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Cast on 86 sts and work in garter st. 

When piece measures 80 cm, bind off all sts.

Front: 

Cast on 86 sts and work 2 cm in garter st.

On foll WS row, work as foll: selv st, K10, P22 (cable), K52, selv st.

Cont in pats. Work cable sts in St st. 

Work in this way for 1 cm. Then inc 8 sts evenly on cable sts and work for 1 cm more.

On foll RS row, work 1st cable crossing: slip 15 sts onto cn, hold at back, K15, then K15 from cn 

Work cable crossings after each 12 cm (= 7 crossing in total). 

When piece measures 80 cm, bind off all sts.

Sleeves:

Cast on 74 sts and work 2 cm in gst.

Cont in St st. 

Sleeve Slants: Inc 1 st 11 times alt on every 2nd and 4th row each side.

Cont until sleeve meas 17 cm. Bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Join side seams leaving armhole openings acc to schematic. 

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
