Sweater with 3/4 Sleeves

Size: 10/12

Materials:

Yarn: 350-400 g (60% wool, 25% acrylic, 15% silk, yardage = 240m / 100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 4.5 mm (US 7).

Rib Patt 1: K1, P1 Rib.

Rib Patt: K2, P2 Rib.

St st: K on RS rows, P on WS rows.

Cable Lace Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Rep rows 1-16 throughout.

Center Panel 1:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Rep rows 1-18 throughout.

Center Panel 2:

Work according to chart 3. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Rep rows 1-20 throughout.

Gauge: 17 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 80 sts and work 4 rows in Rib Patt 1.

Cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in St st, 18 sts in Cable Lace Pattern, 22 sts of Center Panel 1, 18 sts in Cable Lace Pattern, 10 sts in St st, selv st.

For the Armhole Shaping, after 39 cm from beg, bind off at each end 3 sts once, then on every 2nd row 2 sts once, 1 st once = 68 sts.

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 54 cm from cast on, bind off center 24 sts and complete both sides separately.

For neckline rounding at inside edge bind off 3 sts once and 1 st twice on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 56 cm from beg, bind off rem 17 shoulder sts.

Front:

Work as given for back until work meas 41 cm from beg, then work 22 sts of Center Panel 1 (rows rep 6) in Center Panel 2 and upon completion rep rows 19-20.

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 51 cm from beg, bind off center 14 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row, bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st 3 times.

When piece measures 56 cm from beg, bind off rem 17 shoulder sts.

Sleeve:

Cast on 48 sts and work 3 cm in Rib Patt 1.

Cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in St st, P2, 22 sts in Center Panel 1, P2, 10 sts in St st, selv st.

For the sleeve shaping inc 1st at each end on every 8th row 6 times (= 60 sts), work new sts in St st.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 26 cm from beg, bind off 3 sts at each end, then bind off on every 2nd row 2 sts once, 1 st 6 times, 2 sts 3 times, 3 sts twice and rem 14 sts once.

Finishing:

Join shoulder seams.

With circular needle, cast on 76-80 sts evenly around neck edge from RS and work 16-18 cm in Rib Patt 2. Bind off sts loosely in pat.

Sew side seams, sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
