Summer Tunic with cap sleeves
Size: 10 (US 8).
Materials:
Yarn: 250 g (100% Cotton, 175 m per 50 g ball); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 1 mm (US 00), auxiliary needles or stitch holders and crochet hook size 1,25 mm (US B).
Stocking stitch (st st) in rows: Work RS rows K and WS rows P.
Garter stitch (gst) in rows: Work all sts K on RS rows and WS rows; in rnds: *On first rnd, work all sts K, on next rnd work all sts P, rep from * throughout.
Diamond Lace Pattern:
Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Gauge:
in Diamond Lace Patt: 24 sts and 37 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Back and Front:
With circular needle, cast on 198 sts and join for working in rnds. Work 6 rnds in gst.
Next, work 132 rnds in Diamond Lace Patt, 6 rnds in gst, 46 rnds in st st.
On Row 191 from beg, cont as foll: bind off 12 sts for right armhole, work 87 sts for back, bind off 12 sts for left armhole, place on holder 87 sts for front.
Back (over 87 sts):
Armhole Shaping: On Row 193 from beg, bind off 1 stitch at each end, then dec 1 stitch every other row twice = 81 sts.
Then work 20 rows in st st, 6 rows in gst, 12 rows in Diamond Lace Patt.
On Row 237 from beg, work center 31 sts in gst.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 243 from beg, bind off center 29 sts and complete both sides separately.
On Row 261 from pick-up row, bind off rem 26 shoulder sts on either side.
Front:
Work like back, but with deeper neckline.
On Row 225 from beg, work center 31 sts in gst.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 231 from beg, bind off center 29 sts and complete both sides separately.
On Row 261 from pick-up row, bind off rem 26 shoulder sts on either side.
Cap sleeves:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up and k 136 sts (to beg of Armhole Shaping) evenly around armhole edge.
Then work 12 rows in st st, 6 rows gst.
On Row 19 from beg, bind off all sts.
Finishing:
Sew side and sleeve seams.
With crochet hook, work 1 rnds sc (single crochet) around neck edge.
Join row with sl st (slip stitch) to first st.
