Short Tunic Dress in Lace Pattern

Size: 12/14

Materials:

Yarn: 700 g (100% Wool, yardage = 175m / 100g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4.5 mm (US 7), crochet hook size 4.

Stockinette stitch (St st): K on RS rows, P on WS rows.

Lace Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts and yos P.

Rep rows 1-24 throughout.

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 93 sts and knit 1 WS row.

Cont in Lace Pattern: selv st, 8 sts before patt rep, work 18-st patt rep 4 times, end with 11 sts after patt rep, selv st.

Waist Shaping: When piece meas 28 cm from beg, dec 1 st each side on every 6th row 5 times (= 83 sts) knitting sts before patt rep and last sts. 

Armhole Shaping: When piece meas 56 cm from beg, at each end bind off on every other row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, and 1 st once (= 71 sts).

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 73 cm from beg, bind off center 23 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge bind off 5 sts on foll 2nd row.

When piece meas 74 cm from beg, bind off rem 19 sts each side for shoulders.

Front:

Work as given for back, but for neck shaping, after 60 cm from beg, create K1 from center st, K1 tbl, divide sts in half and complete both sides separately.

For neckline rounding, after 8 cm bind off on every other row 9 sts once, 4 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st twice.

When piece meas 74 cm from beg, bind off rem 19 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeve:

Cast on 63 sts and knit 1 WS row.

Cont as foll: selv st, 12 sts in St st, 37 sts in Lace Pattern, 12 sts in St st, selv st.

Cap Shaping: After 8 cm from beg, at each end bind off on every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 8 times, 2 sts twice, 3 sts twice and rem 17 sts once.

Rep for other sleeve.

Finishing:

Sew side and shoulder seams.

With crochet hook, work 1 rnd sc (single crochet) around neckline and front slit.
