Pullover with Diamond Cable Pattern

Materials:

Yarn: 400 g (50% Acrylic, 50% Polyester, yardage = 200 m / 100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 5.5 mm (US 9).

Side Cables: Foll Chart 1. 

Center Diamond: Foll Chart 2. 

Rib Patt: Foll Chart 3. 

Stockinette stitch (St st): K on RS rows, P on WS rows. 

Rev st st: P on RS rows, K on WS rows. 

Garter st (gst): K or P every row. Every gst rib corresponds to 2 rows.  

Gauge over St st: 16 sts and 18 rows = 10 x 10 сm.

Arrows in pattern indicate how pieces are worked. 

Back:

Cast on 96 sts and work 12 rows (= 6 ribs) in gst. 

Cont next row as foll: 9 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 5 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 8 sts in rev st st (A), 2 sts in simple cable (C), 24 sts in st st, 2 sts in simple cable (C), 8 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 5 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 9 sts in rev st st (A).  

Work according to charts 1 and 2. 

When piece measures 41 cm from beg, for armhole shaping, bind off 3 sts once at each end. 

When piece measures 57 cm from beg, bind off all sts. Put piece aside. 

Front:

Cast on 96 sts and work 12 rows (= 6 ribs) in gst. 

Cont next row as foll: 9 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 5 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 8 sts in rev st st (A), 2 sts in simple cable (C), 24 sts in Center Diamond, 2 sts in simple cable (C), 8 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 5 sts in rev st st (A), 6 sts in cable (B), 9 sts in rev st st (A).  

Work according to charts 1 and 2. 

When piece measures 41 cm from beg, for armhole shaping, bind off 3 sts once at each end. 

When piece measures 48 cm from beg, for neckline shaping, bind off center 24 sts and complete both sides separately. 

When piece measures 57 cm from beg, bind off all sts. Put piece aside. 

Sleeves:

Cast on 44 sts and work 16 rows (= 8 ribs) in gst. From next row work piece in st st. 

When piece measures 52 cm from cast on, for cap shaping, at each end bind off 3 sts once, then 1 st 14 times on every 2nd row. 

When piece measures 63 cm from cast on, bind off rem 10 sts. 

Rep for other sleeve. 

Finishing:

Using tapestry needle, sew side seams (41 cm). Leaving 16 cm open for armholes, sew left shoulder seam (10 cm). Leave other shoulder open for band shaping.   

Pick up 84 sts evenly around neck edge and work 6 rows in Rib Patt acc to chart 3. 

Bind off all sts. Leave about 35 cm of spare thread. 

Sew collar seam and right shoulder seam (10 cm). 

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
