Pullover with Cables

Size: 10 (US 8).

Materials:

Yarn: 400 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 260 m/100 g); one circular needle size US 2.5 (4 mm).

Rib Pattern: alt K1, P1.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Stocking stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Cable Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-34 throughout.

Sleeve Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.

Back:

Cast on 76 sts and work 7 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont in St st.

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 45 cm from cast on, bind off at each end 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st twice on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 65 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Front:

Cast on 76 sts and work 7 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont working center 64 sts in Cable Pattern while matching pattern center with front center, work rem sts at each end of pattern in St st.

Armhole shaping: When piece measures 45 cm from beg, at each end bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st twice on every 2nd row.

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 60 cm from cast on, bind off center 12 sts and complete both sides separately.

For neckline rounding, at each end bind off 2 sts twice and 1 st 5 times on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 65 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Sleeves:

Join shoulder seams.

On either side of shoulder seam along armhole edge pick up 9 sts and work in Sleeve Pattern.

Cap Shaping: At the end of each row, create 1 st from selvage st of the armhole, working inc sts into pattern, then cont in St st..

At each end inc 3 sts once, then work lower piece of the sleeve.

For sleeve narrowing, bind off 1st 12 times at each end on every 4th row.

Work 38 cm from armhole bottom edge, then cont in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 46 cm from underarm, bind off sts.

Finishing:

Sew side and sleeve seams.

Neckband: Pick up sts evenly around neck edge and work 3 cm in Rib Patt.
