Pullover with Cable Pattern

Size: S

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 240 m/100 g); quick knit needles size 5 mm (US 8) and one circular needle size 4.5 mm (US 7) 40 cm long.

Rib Pattern: alt K2, P2.

Large Seed Stitch: alt K1, P1.

Shift sts on every 2nd RS row.

Cable Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Work Rows 1 - 14 once, then repeat Rows 3 - 14 throughout.

Gauge:

in Large Seed St: 15 sts and 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

in Cable Patt: 72 sts = 34 сm of width.

Accentuated decreases:

At beg of row as foll: selv st, skpo (= slip 1 st knitwise, k1, pass sl st over), at end of row work to last 3 sts, k2tog, selv st.

Back:

Cast on 81 sts and work 9 Rows in Rib Patt, inc 13 sts evenly across last row = 94 sts.

Cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in Seed Stitch, 72 sts in Cable Pattern, 10 sts in Seed Stitch, selv st.

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 53 cm from beg, bind off 5 sts once at each end, then 1 st 5 times on every 2nd row with accentuated decreases = 74 sts.

After 72 cm from beg, bind off 20 sts each side for shoulders, work center 34 sts and place them on holder for collar.

Front:

Work like back, but for neckline, when piece measures 67 cm from beg, bind off center 18 sts, then bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 3 times on either side of them on every 2nd row for rounding.

When piece measures 72 cm from beg, bind off rem 20 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeves:

Cast on 30 sts and work 8 Rows in Rib Patt, inc 14 sts evenly across last row = 44 sts.

Cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in Seed Stitch, 22 sts in Cable Pattern (from 26th to 47th st of chart), 10 sts in Seed Stitch, selv st.

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 stitch every 8th row 10 times at each end = 64 sts.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 48 cm from beg, bind off 5 sts once at each end, and then dec 2 sts 3 times on every 2nd row, 1 st 4 times on every 4th row, and then dec 1 st 6 times on every 2nd row with accentuated decreases. Bind off rem 20 sts.

Finishing:

Join seams. Set in sleeves.

Collar: Place sts from holder onto circular needle, pick up 10 sts between them and work in Rib Patt over all sts = 72 sts. 

Cont until collar meas 22 cm. Bind off all sts loosely.
