Sizes: 12/14 (US 10/12)

Materials:

Yarn: 315 g (100% Wool, 300 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6) and crochet hook size 3 mm (US C).

Rib Pattern: alt K1, P1.

Diamond Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts and yos P.

Gauge: 20 sts and 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 92 sts and work 12 Rows in Rib Patt, inc 7 sts evenly across last row = 99 sts.

Then work as foll: selv st, K1, * 12 sts in Diamond Pattern, rep from * 7 times, selv st.

Armhole Shaping: On Row 98 from Rib Patt, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 stitch twice on every 2nd row = 77 sts.

On Row 56 from armhole beg, bind off all sts.

Front:

Work like back, but with neckline.

On Row 44 from armhole beg, bind off center 25 sts and, on either side of them, bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st once on every 2nd row.

On Row 56 from armhole beg, bind off rem 18 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeves:

Cast on 42 sts and work 12 Rows in Rib Patt, inc 3 sts evenly across last row = 45 sts.

Then work as foll: selv st, K1, 1 yo, K2tog, K4, * 12 sts in Diamond Pattern, rep from * 3 times, selv st.

Sleeve Shaping: On Row 7 from Rib Patt, inc 1 stitch at each end, then 1 stitch 9 times every 8th row, 1 stitch 3 times every 6th row = 71 sts.

Work inc sts into Diamond Pattern.

Cap Shaping: On Row 108 from Rib Patt, bind off 3 sts at each end, then 3 sts once, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 12 times, 3 sts 3 times on every 2nd row.

On Row 40 from cap beg, bind off rem 5 sts.

Finishing:

Close shoulder seams.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

With crochet hook, work 1 row crab st (= sc from left to right) evenly around neck edge.

Join row with sl st to first st.
