How to knit a Lace Tunic:
Size: US 6 / UK 10
Materials:
300 g of yarn (100% mercerized cotton, 396 m/150 g); circular needle 5.0 mm (US 8 / UK 6), 100 cm long.
Ribbing Pattern: * P1, K1, repeat from * across the row.
Fantasy Stitch Pattern:
Row 1: K1, * P1, K1, repeat from * to end.
Row 2: * P1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, repeat from * to end.
Repeat these 2 rows throughout.
Lace Stitch Pattern:
Work according to the chart, which shows both right-side and wrong-side rows.
Work rows 1-14 once, then repeat rows 3-14 throughout.
The pattern repeat is 8 stitches.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern across the row, end with 1 stitch after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Gauge:
in lace pattern: 21 stitches × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm.
Back:
Cast on 113 stitches.
Work as follows: 16 stitches in fantasy pattern, 81 stitches in lace pattern, 16 stitches in fantasy pattern.
When the piece measures 54 cm from the cast-on edge, continue as follows: 16 stitches in fantasy pattern, 81 stitches in 1x1 ribbing, 16 stitches in fantasy pattern.
At 58 cm total length, bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work the same as the back.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams (14 cm each).
Sew side seams (36 cm each), leaving 22 cm open for armholes.
