Jacket in Lace Pattern

Sizes: L- XL

Changes for size XL are in parentheses. 

If there is only one number it applies to both sizes.

Materials: 

Yarn: 300 g (77% mercerized cotton, 23% Viscose, 170 m/50 g); 1 pair each of quick knit needles sizes US 1,5 (2,5 mm) and US 2,5 (3 mm), 1 circular knitting needle size US 1,5 (2,5 mm); 7 buttons. 

Stitch Glossary:

K1: Knit stitch

P1: Purl stitch

yo: Yarn over 

sk2po: Slip 1 st kwise, K next 2 sts tog, pass slipped stitch over

1 skpo: Slip 1 st kwise, K1, pass slipped stitch over

K2tog: knit 2 sts together

Lace Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts and yos P. 

Work rows 1 - 66 once, then rep rows 3 - 66.

Lace Rib: Multiple of 6 sts + 1 + 2 selv sts.

Row 1 (WS): Purl. 

Row 2 (RS): selv st, K1, * yo, K1, sk2po, K1, yo, P1, rep from *, selv st.  

Row 3: work all sts and yos P.

Rep rows 2 and 3.

Gauge: 24 sts and 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Using 2,5 mm needles, cast on 117 (122) sts and work 2,5 cm in Lace Rib. 

Change to 3 mm needles and continue in Lace Pattern and on the first row inc 6 sts evenly spaced across = 123 (128) sts. 

Beg with row 3, work in Lace Patt as foll: selv st, 5 sts before patt rep, work patt rep 11 times end with the 6 sts after patt rep and selv st. 

Side Slant: Inc 1 st at both ends every 14th row 5 times = 133 (138) sts. 

Armhole Shaping: When work measures 29 (30) cm from welt, bind off 4 sts at both ends of next row, then on every 2nd row 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 5 times = 103 (108) sts.  

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 32 (34) cm from welt, bind off center 25 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding from each neck edge, bind off 4 sts every 2nd row 4 times.  

Shoulder Shaping: When piece measures 48 (50) cm from welt, bind off 7 sts at both ends of next row, then on every 2nd row 8 sts 3 times. 

When piece measures 50 (52) cm from welt, bind off rem sts each side for shoulders.

Left Front: 

Using 2,5 mm needles cast on 63 sts and work 2,5 cm in Lace Rib.

Change to 3 mm needles and continue in Lace Pattern, beg with row 3 work as foll: selv st, work patt rep 5 times, end with the 6 sts after patt rep and selv st.  

Cont in pat as established and work side slant and armhole at right edge same as for back. 

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 32 (34) cm from welt, bind off 5 sts at left edge and every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st 6 times, then every 4th row 1 st 4 times. 

Shoulder Shaping: When piece measures 48 (50) cm from welt, shape shoulder same as for back.

Right Front: Work to correspond to left front, reversing shaping.

Sleeves: 

Using 2,5 mm needles cast on 81 sts and work 2,5 cm in Lace Rib. 

Change to 3 mm needles and continue in Lace Pattern and on the first row inc 2 sts evenly spaced across = 83 sts. 

Beg with row 3 work in Lace Patt as foll: selv st, 5 sts before patt rep, work patt rep 7 times, end with the 6 sts after patt rep and selv st. 

Sleeve shaping: Inc 1 st each side every 2th row 10 times = 103 sts. 

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 11 cm from beg, bind off 3 sts at each end of next row, then on every 2nd row 2 sts 6 times, 1 st 12 times, 2 sts 5 times and 3 sts once. 

Bind off rem sts.

Finishing: 

Join shoulder seams. Set in sleeves, sew side and sleeve seams. 

Neckband: Pick up and k153 sts evenly around neck edge and work 2,5 cm in Lace Rib. 

Then bind off all sts.

Bands: Pick up 87 sts from front edges incl short side of Neckband and work 2,5 cm in Lace Rib.

Then bind off all sts. 

Sew on buttons.
