Dress with Lace Pattern

Size: 10/12 (US 8/10).

Materials:

460 g Alpina Viven (100% Bamboo, yardage 405 m/50 g); one pair knit needles and one circular knitting needle, both size 3 mm (US 2,5). 

The dress is worked with double strand.

Stockinette stitch (St st): K on RS rows, p on WS rows.

Reverse stockinette stitch (Rev st st): P on RS rows; k on WS rows.

Diamond Cable Pattern: 

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Repeat Rows 1-56 throughout.

Lace Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts and yos P.

Work rows 1 - 40 once, then rep rows 29 - 40 throughout.

Gauge:

double strand in Diamond Cable Pattern with 3 mm needles: 28,5 sts and 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

double strand in Lace Pattern with 3 mm needles: 28,5 sts and 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Upper Back: 

Using waste yarn, cast on 140 sts and work 3 rows in St st.

These rows are not considered in the foll calculations. 

Using main yarn, cont as foll: selv st, 14 sts in Rev st st, 110 sts in Diamond Cable Pattern, 14 sts in Rev st st, selv st.

Waist Shaping: On Row 9 from beg, bind off 1 stitch at each end, then 1 stitch every 8th row 4 times, 1 stitch every 6th 5 times, 1 stitch every 4th row twice and 1 stitch every other row once = 114 sts.

On Row 87 from beg, inc 1 stitch at each end, then 1 st every 6th row 10 times = 136 sts.

Armhole Shaping: On Row 156 from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 3 sts every other row once, 2 sts once and 1 st twice = 114 sts. 

On Row 71 from beg armhole, bind off all sts.

Upper Front: Work like upper back, but with deeper neckline.

Neckline Shaping: On Row 10 from beg armhole, bind off center 16 sts and 5 sts every other row once, 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 stitch 3 times at both neck edges. 

On Row 71 from beg armhole, bind off rem 36 sts each side for shoulders.

Skirt: 

Sew shoulder and side seams.

Carefully remove waste yarn. 

Pick up 280 sts (10-st rep 28 times) from lower edge of front and back and work rnds in Lace Pattern.

On Row 112 from beg skirt, bind off 728 sts in pat. 

Sleeves: 

Cast on 96 sts and work 1 WS row purl.

Using main yarn, cont as foll: selv st, 14 sts in Rev st st, 66 sts in Diamond Cable Pattern, 14 sts in Rev st st, selv st.

Cap Shaping: On Row 31 from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 3 sts every other row once, 2 sts 4 times, 1 stitch 19 times and 3 sts 3 times. 

On Row 56 from beg cap, bind off rem 10 sts. 

Finishing:

Sew in sleeves, join side and sleeve seams.
