Dress with Lace Pattern

Sizes: 10/12 (US 8/10).

Materials:

Yarn: 600 g (100% Wool, yardage = 80 m/50 g); one pair quick knit needles sizes 4.5 and 5 mm (US 7 and 8) and one circular needle size 4.5 mm (US 7).

Rib Pattern: alt K1, P1 Rib.

Stockinette stitch (St st): work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Lace Pattern: Multiple of 22 + 1 + 2 selv sts.

Work according to chart. RS and WS rows are shown.

Beg with 1 selv st and sts before patt, rep patt, end with sts after patt and 1 selv st.

Work rows 1-42 once, then rep rows 15-42.

Gauge:

18 sts and 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm over St st with 5 mm needles.

Back:

Using 4.5 mm needles, cast on 84 sts and work 12 cm in Rib Patt while inc 6 sts evenly across last row.

Cont with 5 mm needles in St st.

When piece measures 65 cm from band, for armholes, bind off 4 sts at each end.

When piece measures 84 cm from band, for neckline, bind off center 22 sts and finish both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge bind off 4 sts once on next alt row.

When armhole measures 20 cm, bind off rem 22 shoulder sts.

Complete to match first side of neck, reversing all shaping.

Front:

Work like back, but with deeper neckline.

When piece measures 44 cm from band, beg to work in Lace Patt.

When piece measures 65 cm from band, for armholes, bind off 4 sts at each end.

When piece measures 78 cm from beg, for neckline, bind off center 20 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge bind off on every 2nd row 2 sts once and 1 st 4 times.

When piece measures 85 cm, bind off rem 22 shoulder sts.

Complete to match first side of neck, reversing all shaping.

Sleeves:

Using 4.5 mm needles, cast on 44 sts and work 8 cm in Rib Patt while inc 3 sts evenly across last row.

Cont with 5 mm needles in Lace Pattern.

When piece measures 13 cm from Rib, for sleeve slants, inc 1 st 8 times at each end on every 6th row = 63 sts.

When piece measures 42 cm from Rib, for sleeve cap, bind off at each end 4 sts, then 1 st on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 56 cm, bind off rem 22 sts.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams.

For collar, using circular needle, pick up 116 sts evenly around neck edge and work 8 rnds in Rib Patt while inc 54 sts evenly across last row = 170 sts.

Then work 24 rnds in Rib Patt and bind off all sts in pattern.
