Materials:
Yarn: 480 g (50% Wool, 50 % Acrylic, yardage = 392 m/100); one pair each quick knit needles sizes 2.5 mm (US 1.5) and one cable needle.
Stocking stitch (St st): work RS rows K and WS rows P.
Cable Rib Pattern:
Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 throughout.
Lace Pattern:
Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Gauge:
in lace pattern: 30 sts and 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Back:
Cast on 138 sts and work 50 rows in Cable Rib Pattern and 2 rows in St st, inc 1 stitch on last row = 139 sts.
Cont to work 196 rows in Lace Pattern.
Armhole Shaping: On Row 199 from Rib Pattern, bind off 3 sts at each end, then 2 sts every other row 3 times and 1 stitch 3 times = 115 sts.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 67 from beg of armhole, bind off center 44 sts and complete both sides separately.
On Row 319 from beg, bind off rem 35 sts each side for shoulders.
Front:
Work like back, but with deeper neckline.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 241 from Rib Patt, bind off center 26 sts, then at both neck edges, bind off 5 sts every other row once, 3 sts once and 1 stitch once.
On Row 319 from beg, bind off rem 35 sts each side for shoulders.
Sleeves:
Cast on 58 sts and work 30 rows in Cable Rib Pattern and 2 rows in St st, inc 15 sts evenly across last WS row = 73 sts.
Cont to work 164 rows in Lace Pattern.
Sleeve Shaping: inc 1 stitch each side every 8th row 10 times, then 1 stitch every 10th row 8 times = 109 sts.
Cap Shaping: On Row 167 from Rib Patt, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 2 sts each side every other row 3 times, 1 stitch 9 times, 3 sts 3 times.
On Row 229 from beg, bind off rem 53 sts.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seam.
Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
Collar:
Cast on 227 sts and work 20 rows in Cable Rib Patt.
For the collar shaping on Rows 21, 45 and 69, inc 2 sts each side of Cable (working the inc sts purl) = 239 sts.
On Row 81 from beg, bind off all sts.
Sew collar edges together and sew collar on neckline.
