Materials:

Yarn: 600 g (49% Wool, 51% Acrylic, yardage = 240 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 3.5 mm (US 4).

Rib Patt 1x1: alt K1, P1 Rib.

Rib Patt 2x2: alt K2, P2 Rib.

Lace Cable Pattern: Foll Chart 1.

Lace Leaf Pattern: Foll Chart 2.

Lace Path: Foll Chart 3.

Gauge: 18 sts and 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 91 sts and work 2 rows in Rib Patt 1x1.

Then cont as foll: selv st, K6, P1, 20 sts in Lace Cable Pattern, 15 sts in Lace Leaf Pattern, 5 sts in Lace Path, 15 sts in Lace Leaf Pattern, 20 sts in Lace Cable Pattern, P1, K6, selv st.

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 71 cm from beg, bind off at each end 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st twice = 77 sts.

Neckline Shaping: When work meas 87 cm from beg, bind off center 23 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once and 2 sts once.

When piece measures 90 cm from beg, bind off 22 shoulder sts.

Front:

Work as given for back, but for the Neck Shaping, after 82 cm from beg, bind off center 19 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st twice.

When piece measures 90 cm from beg, bind off 22 shoulder sts.

Sleeves:

Cast on 43 sts and work 2 cm in Rib Patt 1x1.

Cont as foll: selv st, K7, P1, 5 sts in Lace Path, 15 sts in Lace Leaf Pattern, 5 sts in Lace Path, P1, K7, selv st.

Shape sleeve: Inc 1st 7 times at each end on every 6th row = 57 sts.

Cap Shaping: After 42 cm from beg, bind off at each end on every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 4 times, 2 sts twice, 3 sts twice and rem 17 sts once.

Finishing:

Close shoulder seams.

Collar: Using circular needle, pick up 72 sts evenly around neck edge and work 7 cm in Rib Patt 2x2. Bind off sts loosely.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
