Coat in Leaf Pattern with Cables

Size: 10 (US 6)

Materials:

Yarn: 1200 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 280 m/100 g); 1 pair of knit needle size 4 mm (US 6), cable needles, 7 buttons.

Garter st (gst): RS and WS rows K.

Rib Patt: alt K2, P2.

Basic Pattern: Leaf Pattern with Cables: 

Work acc to сhart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos. 

Repeat Rows 1-26 throughout.

Working: 

Coat is worked in one piece top down.

Cast on 117 sts and cont as foll: selv st, for band - K1, 7 sts in gst, K1; for left front - 16 sts in Basic Pattern, K2 for raglan; for left sleeve - 16 sts in Basic Pattern, K2 for raglan; for back - 25 sts in Basic Pattern, K2 for raglan; for right sleeve - 16 sts in Basic Pattern, K2 for raglan; for right front - 16 sts in Basic Pattern; for band - K1, 7 sts in gst, K1, selv st.

For widening on all 4 raglan lines, inc 1 st 25 times on every 2nd row.

Work incs as yos before and after raglan sts. 

When piece measures 28 cm from beg, place sts of sleeves on cable needles. 

Place sts of fronts and back on working needles and work in Basic Pattern.  

For widening, inc 10 sts evenly on purl sts on every 14th row. 

Work buttonholes on right front band: bind off 3 sts on RS row, on WS row cast them on again.

When piece measures 88 cm from cast on, bind off all sts. 

Place sts of sleeves on working needles and work in Basic Pattern. 

Sleeve Shaping: Dec 1 st each side every 8th row. 

When piece measures 60 cm from beg, work 6 cm in Rib Patt, then bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Pick up sts evenly around neck edge and work 10 rows in Rib Patt. Then bind off all sts.

With crochet hook, work 1 rnd sc and 1 rnd crab st (= sc from left to right) around side edges of bands.

Sew on buttons.
