Garter Stitch Raglan Top

How to knit the Garter Stitch Raglan Top:
Sizes: US 4-8 / UK 8-12 / EU 34-38
Materials:
450 g yarn (60% modal, 40% acrylic, 66 yd per 1.76 oz / 60 m per 50 g); US 10 (6 mm) knitting needles, US 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook.

Stockinette Stitch: Right-side rows: knit stitches. Wrong-side rows: purl stitches.

Garter Stitch: Work all stitches knit.

Reverse Garter Stitch: Work all stitches purl.

Main Pattern:
Number of stitches is a multiple of 16 + 13 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, or as indicated, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and 9 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 4 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 throughout.
If the lace sections of the Main Pattern cannot be worked completely during the raglan decreases, work those stitches in Stockinette Stitch.

Gauge:
for Front and Back on average: 14 stitches and 20.5 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm);
Garter Stitch: 14 stitches and 26 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).


Back:
Cast on 63 stitches and work in Main Pattern.
For raglan shaping, after 11.25 in = 58 rows (28.5 cm) from cast-on, work as follows: at the beginning of the row, 1 edge stitch, 1 stitch in Reverse Garter Stitch, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 stitches together and pass the slipped stitch over, 1 yarn over, knit 2 stitches together with slip-over decrease, at the end of the row knit 2 stitches together, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 stitches together and pass the slipped stitch over, 1 yarn over, 1 stitch in Reverse Stockinette Stitch, 1 edge stitch.
Repeat these decreases 13 more times on every 2nd row and 8 times alternately on every 2nd and 4th row.
After 21 in = 110 rows (53.5 cm) from cast-on, bind off the remaining 19 stitches.

Front:
Work as for Back, but with neckline shaping.
For the neckline, after 19.25 in (49 cm) from cast-on, bind off the center 11 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the inner edge on every 2nd row 1 time 2 stitches and 2 times 1 stitch.
After 20.75 in (52.5 cm) from cast-on, all stitches have been bound off.

Sleeve:
Cast on 44 stitches and work Garter Stitch between the edge stitches.
For sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side on every 4th row 2 times, working the new stitches into pattern = 48 stitches.
For raglan shaping, after 1.5 in = 10 rows (4 cm) from cast-on, bind off 1 stitch at each side, then bind off 1 stitch 12 times alternately on every 2nd and 4th row, then 7 times on every 2nd row.
After 9.5 in = 62 rows (24 cm) from cast-on, bind off the remaining 8 stitches.

Finishing:
Sew raglan seams.
Crochet 1 round of single crochet and 1 round of reverse single crochet (crab stitch) around the neckline.
Sew all seams.
Crochet 1 round of single crochet around the lower edge of the pullover.
