White Cable Knit Sweater For Baby Boy
Size: 12-18 months
Materials:
200 g Kartopu Gonca Sena White (col K010) (100% Akrylic, 300 m/100 g); 1 pair each 3,5 and 4 mm quick knit needles and 1 circular knitting needle size 3,5 mm.
Rib Pat: K2, P2 Rib.
Cable Pat 1:
Work acc to chart. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Work rows 1-18 once, then repeat rows 3 to 18.
Cable Pat 2:
Work to chart.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Work rows 1-4 once, then repeat rows 3 and 4.
Honeycomb Cable Stitch:
Work to chart.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Work rows 1-10 of chart.
Gauge:
Rib Pat: 18 sts and 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm, slightly stretched;
Cable Pat 1: 9 sts = 5 cm wide and 25 rows = 10 cm tall;
Cable Pat 2: 4 sts = 2 cm wide and 25 rows = 10 cm tall;
Honeycomb Cable Stitch: 6 sts = 4 cm wide and 25 rows = 10 cm tall.
Back:
With 3,5 mm needles cast on 56 sts and work 4 cm = 10 rows in Rib Pat for border, inc 2 sts on last WS row = 58 sts.
Change to 4 mm needles and cont as foll:
Selv st, 2 sts in rev St st, * 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 4 sts in rev St st, rep from * 5 times, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 2 sts in rev St st, selv st.
Cont in patt until piece measures 27 cm from border.
Neck shaping:
Bind off center 16 sts and finish both sides separately.
For rounding from each neck edge, bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once.
When piece measures 29 cm from border, bind off rem 15 sts each side for shoulders.
Front:
With 3,5 mm needles cast on 56 sts and work 4 cm = 10 rows in Rib Pat for border, inc 1 sts on last WS row = 57 sts.
Change to 4 mm needles and cont as foll:
Selv st, 2 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 2 sts in rev St st, 6 sts in Honeycomb Cable Stitch, 2 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 3 sts in rev St st, 9 sts in Cable pat 1, 3 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 2 sts in rev St st, 6 sts in Honeycomb Cable Stitch, 2 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 2 sts in rev St st, selv st.
Cont in patt until piece measures 25 cm from border.
Neck shaping:
Bind off center 11 sts and finish both sides separately.
For rounding from each neck edge, bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st once.
When same length as back, bind off rem 15 sts at RH side for shoulders.
Sew shoulder seam.
Sleeve:
With RS facing, pick up and k25 sts along top side edge of front + center 1st and k25 sts along top side edge of back = 51 sts (each 14 cm).
Cont in pats as foll: Selv st, 4 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 4 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 4 sts in rev St st, 9 sts in Cable pat 1, 4 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 4 sts in rev St st, 4 sts in Cable pat 2, 4 sts in rev St st, selv st = 51 sts.
For the sleeve shaping, dec 1 st each side of next row and every 6th row 7 times = 35 sts.
When work meas 20 cm = 48 rows from picked-up sts, evenly dec 6 sts and then 5 sts once more (in rev St st) = 24 sts.
Work 4 cm = 10 rows in Rib Pat for border.
Finishing:
For the collar, with RS facing and 3,5 mm circular needle, pick up and k 72 sts evenly around neck edge.
Then work 12 cm = 30 rnds in Rib Pat.
Bind off all sts in pat.
Join side and sleeve seams.
