Size: 8 (US 6).

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (100% Acrylic, yardage = 300 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6), 3 buttons, cable needles or stitch holders.

Rib Patt: alt K2, P2.

Basic Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-28 throughout.

Cable Pattern:

Work according to charts 2 and 3. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-6 throughout.

Back:

Cast on 100 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 4 cm from beg, work in Basic Patt.

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 48 cm from beg, bind off 4 sts at both ends, then 2 sts once and 1 st once on every other row.

Cont even.

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 66 cm from cast on, bind off center 20 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at neckline edge bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once every other row.

When piece measures 70 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Right Front:

Cast on 64 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 4 cm from cast on, cont as foll: selv st, 10 sts in Rib Patt, Cable Pattern acc to chart 2, Basic Pattern (3 reps), selv st.

Work even.

At the same time, work buttonholes evenly spaced on front.

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 48 cm from beg, on left side bind off 4 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once.

At the same time, to widen shawl collar, inc 1 st 18 times after Rib Patt (before Cable Pattern) every other row.

Neck Slant: After Cable Pattern, bind off 1 st 18 times on every other row.

Work increased sts in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 70 cm from beg, place 28 sts on right side of Rib Patt onto cn, bind off rem sts.

Left Front: Work in reverse.

Sleeve:

Cast on 50 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 12 cm from beg, evenly inc 22 sts and cont in Basic Patt.

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 st each side every 8th row.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 40 cm from cast on, at both ends bind off 4 sts and then on every other row 2 sts twice and 1 st 10 times.

When piece measures 52 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Finishing:

Sew side and shoulder seams.

Sew sleeve seams, then sew sleeves into armholes.

Shawl Collar: Transfer sts from cn on needles and work in Rib Patt (lengthwise, one side of shawl collar should reach neckline center on back). Bind off all sts.

Sew short sides of collar tog. Sew to neckline.

Sew on buttons.
